Sonnen: North America should look up on Japan and Brasil
UFC's middleweight fighter Chael Sonnen is
hard to find on "wrong foot" whan it comes to inspiration for the
colorful interview. Chael Sonnen was a guest today on the show "The MMA
Hour", where over the screen commented Okami's defeat, the triumph of
Nogueira and many more.
The UFC 134 and his
arriving in Brazil.
- "In North
America it is different, there were fans who wanted me to lose to Anderson.
It's a little strange, they should not turn their back to countryman. They
should look up to other supporters."
- "Reactions of
the fans were vivid, and they should be like that. Their fans support their
fighter on very loud and passionate way. In Japan people love and support the
sport too but they do indicate silence."
- "I didn't come to Brasil
becouse I became too big distrction.Of the two editions of newspapers that they
have, I was on the cover of one, and I have not even played. I wanted to go to
the event solely to support Yushin but it was more reasonable to watch the
fight from the living room. I received a dozen threats of which the seventh was
the most serious. You could see in his eyes that he already stabbed someone
with a knife."
About Yushin's defeat
in the main fight of the evening.
- "Anyone who wins him deserves respect, even
though I was not thrilled with the fight as the others. Anderson threw two hits
and the match was a model of inactivity. If I had to see five rounds, I would
shut down TV."
- "It was not a real Okami. I do not know what he was, might have
been disrupted by cries of," You will die. "I yell at the TV after 15
seconds of viewing. It is strange that the weighing was 1.5 kg below the
maximum allowable weight. He lost a lot of weight to participate in the
middleweight division and it's not clear to me why he was even easier. I had
heard that he got sick, but I have not talked to him."
A victory over
Nogueira on Brendan Schaub.
- "Bravo
for "Big Foot", I admire him that he managed to win after such a long
break, he is an inspiration to many. But this was the ugliest fight I've ever
seen."
